We Can (and Should!) Celebrate America!
We see the brokenness around us. We hear the debates. And sometimes, even as believers, we wonder: Can we really rejoice in our nation when so much feels unsettled, divided, or unfinished?
All the angry, loud voices decrying our history, blaming our founders and current leaders, scream and protest that America is a hateful, racist, country…and those voices get more and more air-time. Should we listen? Can we still celebrate?
When You’re Worried About What to Say
Your words feel tangled. Your heart races. But God has not left you to figure it out alone. He promises to be with you—and give you the words you need. If you’ve read my blog or had a conversation with me at any length you know how I feel and what I am strongly convicted of about this kind of thing. Certainly, not because I’m some super together word wizard but because I really truly have been there on the clumsy side of this and have also been there on the, “Woah, there’s no way that was me” side of it.
Resting Because Jesus is Seated
I’ve learned not to treat the Bible like a checklist, but like breath. Hebrews 8 reminded me again why: Jesus is seated. His work is finished. And if He’s seated, I can stop striving. That kind of soul-deep truth doesn’t come from skimming devotionals, it comes from dwelling in the Word itself. You don’t need to be a scholar to see Him there. You just need to stay a little longer.
