Go ahead, post that mug shot

Thoughts · 2 minute read

Why is the “coffee mug + Bible” such a ubiquitous post?

It’s a slice of our lives.

Our ritual.

Our reorienting.

A warm moment that we felt right

for in those sweet sips we had hopeful calm and we remembered

that good things like coffee and a favorite mug
are well paired with needful things
like
quiet times and trusting God
and knowing that God didn’t have to give us
delicious, simple pleasures,
but He did
and that in itself is a reminder
of what is most essential –

that God is good and He cares for us.

It’s ok to post and share. Some may scoff and dismiss – “virtue signaling” – but, you

keep sipping and you

keep resting and

keep trusting and

taking those moments to

be still and reflect and enjoy the simple, sweet moments the Lord gives you.

Keep letting those little moments preach the quiet sermon:
God is here. God is kind. And yes—God cares about mugs and mornings too.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.”
—Psalm 34:8

This week, share your morning ritual. Is it coffee and Scripture? A messy table and a quiet heart? Post your moment and tag me when you do—I’d love to see it.
Use the hashtag #DwellingRichly so we can savor these sacred pauses together.

And you go ahead and post that mug shot and savor that moment and share it with us as well.

Thank you for reading my thoughts today. I’d enjoy reading yours as well. Leave a comment below and I’ll say hi! Share this post and encourage someone else today.

~Blessings, Jennifer
