It’s Ok if You Feel Swallowed Up

Devotionals· Thoughts · 2 minute read

-First published: January 2021-

You can feel the fear
You may feel overwhelmed
You are then in the best place possible
…hear my heart

When your anxiety sends you under
When your confusion leaves you reeling
When you have no sense left of what is true

Deep breath…
Consider…
You are in the middle of the compass spinning
Swallowed and blurry but in Christ
A compass whose needle always rights itself to true north
Pointing up
Pointing out
Pointing away from fear, weakness, and confusion

For God has not given you a spirit of fear
But of power and love and a sound mind.

Do you feel weak?
Be assured of His strength a strength that is perfected even in your weakness
Do you feel disdain?
Be assured that the love of God is greater – an all-encompassing love that can fill every broken place
Do you feel confused? Unclear?

Be assured that God is sure.
that His ways are not our ways His thoughts are not ours…

What a relief.

You don’t need to have it figured out.

You don’t need to even have an opinion.

You don’t need to have a comment or anything wise to say.

You don’t need anything but the solid Rock

Breathe. Reach Up. Pray.

Read the Word.

Worship.

Rest.

from the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I

Psalm 61

Share. Encourage. Leave a comment to bless someone else today…
and if you want more, need prayer, to feel heard…I will pray with and for you…
